The flag of Curacao
The flag of Curacao is rectangular containing two blue stripes and a yellow track. The top wide blue stripe refers to the sky, the small yellow ground to the sun and the lower blue ground to the sea. Top left are a large and a small five-pointed star. The large star represents Curacao and the smaller star the island “little Curacao.” The white color of the star is the symbol of peace and happiness. July 2 on Curacao dia di bandera the “Flag Day” and the National Anthem. On this date in 1951 the government of the island came together for the first time.
