KURA HULANDA OTROBANDA
A combination of local entrepreneurial groups have bought the Kura Hulanda property in Otrobanda. They strive to keep the hotel open, while investing in the upgrading of this unique complex with its 85 rooms and suites.
The bankruptcy trustee of Hotel Kura Hulanda NV, Arend de Winter, confirms the signed purchase agreement; it has been submitted for the green light to the examining magistrate. It looks good according to the trustee, who also speaks on behalf of the mortgage holders.
The combination is formed by three groups of local entrepreneurs: the group of the former owners of Wet ‘n Wild and now of Bonita; the Zanzibar group; and the Infotrans/ITGroup. The latter is the initiator and driver of this purchase, which will provide a solution for a striking part of the city center. All three groups have many years of knowledge and experience in hospitality and business and have a good reputation.
After two and a half years, there is perspective again for this special resort in the heart of Willemstad with various monumental buildings. The curator notices great enthusiasm among the group of buyers and says that this is outstanding for Curacao. The fact that the buyers are local entrepreneurs gives the whole thing a golden edge.
