Dutch Antillean legal system
Dutch Antillean legal system
Even though Curaçao and St. Maarten became autonomous countries within the Kingdom, they will provisionally continue to apply Dutch Antilles legal system. Also the two islands will still keep the Antillean guilder (ANG) as their currency.
Curacao and Sint Maarten have an identical tax system.
The tax on Curaçao distinguishes between residents (permanent living on Curaçao) and non-residents (not permanently residing in Curaçao but enjoying income from Curacao source). This means that a resident of the Netherlands with a vacation rental located on Curaçao as a non-resident is subject to taxation Curaçao.
