Renting in Julianadorp
Origins
Julianadorp is a beautiful, stately neighborhood in Curaçao. The neighborhood is more or less in the middle of Curaçao. The first houses were built around 1930. These were mainly so-called two-story semi-detached houses. This section with some older houses is known as Old Julianadorp. Then, around the fifties, Julianadorp continued to expand considerably. Julianadorp and Emmastad became the locations where the senior staff and executives of the Shell refinery came to live. Initially, the properties were realized by the oil company and one could generally only rent in Julianadorp Curacao.
These days
Today, Julianadorp is still an “upscale” residential neighborhood. It’s a great place to live—quiet, wooded, and ideally located. The beautiful beaches west of Willemstad are just a few minutes away. Downtown Willemstad is just a few kilometers away. The airport is a short distance away, and the nearby “Sambil” shopping center—a brand-new development—is starting to take shape.
Parents with children
For parents with (young) children, Julianadorp is definitely a plus. Its proximity to several well-regarded schools and a safe neighborhood are often the most important factors that make all the difference. Because of these factors, there are many children in the area, making it easy for your children to make “friends.”
