Surroundings
Located in a beautiful and historic part of Curaçao is Resort Coral Estate, a unique resort featuring stunning villas. Coral Estate is situated on the southwest coast, a 20-minute drive from Hato Airport, the Blue Bay golf course, and supermarkets, and 30 minutes from both Willemstad and Westpunt. A stunning natural setting, with the Caribbean Sea to the southwest and the salina (inland lake) to the northeast. The salina is part of the former salt pans, an area where flamingos now forage for food. It is a beautiful and rustic area near the town of St. Willibrordus, with its large church serving as a landmark. The resort covers approximately 350 hectares, of which only 30% is developed along a coastline stretching no less than 3 km. The vast expanse of Coral Estate Resort offers plenty of greenery and spacious lots. The natural variation in elevation ensures that virtually all villas enjoy unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea.
Safety
Thanks to its natural boundaries, the resort is already in a secure location, and this is further reinforced by the fact that there is only one access road. In addition, there is 24-hour security. Resort Coral Estate, Rif St. Marie, Willibrordus, is located just a few kilometers from Curaçao’s most beautiful natural beaches, such as Port Marie, Cas Abao, Daaibooi, Grote Knip, and Kleine Knip.
History
Coral Estate Resort is located on the site where the Rif St. Marie plantation was situated until the 19th century. It is known that 73 slaves worked on the plantation in 1700. Tobacco, cotton, sugarcane, and indigo were grown there, and approximately 150 head of cattle, nearly 170 sheep, and more than 180 goats grazed on the land.
