Dutch Antillean legal system<\/p>\n
Even though Cura\u00e7ao and St. Maarten became autonomous countries within the Kingdom, they will provisionally continue to apply Dutch Antilles legal system. Also the \u00a0two islands will still keep the Antillean guilder (ANG) as their currency.<\/p>\n
Curacao and Sint Maarten have an identical tax system.<\/p>\n
The tax on Cura\u00e7ao distinguishes between residents (permanent living on Cura\u00e7ao) and non-residents (not permanently residing in Cura\u00e7ao but enjoying income from Curacao source). This means that a resident of the Netherlands with a vacation rental located on Cura\u00e7ao as a non-resident is subject to taxation Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n
